Why Chiropractic?

Chiropractic offers tremendous benefits in animal health care. It belongs in the health care spectrum along with traditional veterinary medicine.

Chiropractic does not pretend to encompass the entire study of health and disease, but it does offer further explanations for disease and offers complementary therapy. Chiropractic recognises the intimate relationship of the spinal column to the nervous system and the effect that dysfunction of the spine has on the locomotor apparatus as well as the role of the spinal column in the biomechanics of movement.

The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, chiropractors recognize the value and responsibility of working in co-operation with other treatment modalities.

If the function of the spine is compromised, there are consequences, therefore back pain or dysfunction should be considered in the diagnostic picture, recognising that it is not the whole picture but that its’ central role should not be overlooked.
